Veteran Malayalam actor Venu passes away

Popular veteran Malayalam actor Nedumudi Venu, passed away on Monday. The actor who played key roles in popular Tamil films like Indian, Anniyan and Sarvam Thaala Mayam, has passed away due to health issues.

The actor, who entered the film industry in 1978, had acted in over 500 films in his career. He had also won three National Awards and three Filmfare Awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 73-year-old actor had recently recovered from COVID-19, but had to be admitted in the intensive care unit of a hospital on Sunday following health complications.

Recently, he was part of the Mani Ratnam and Jayaendra Panchapakesan-produced anthology Navarasa, in which he appeared in a short directed by Priyadarshan.
